About Allison

Allison (Stone) Egan's connection to Maryland Orthopedic Specialists goes back further than her hire date.

A Washington DC native who graduated from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in 2009, Allison went on to Lafayette College where she studied Psychology and Spanish while competing on the Division I varsity soccer team. It was there, going through her own recoveries from soccer injuries, that she first understood what physical therapy could do for an athlete, and what kind of clinician she wanted to be.

She interned at MOS in the summer of 2012, years before she had her degree. When she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2018, returning to this team wasn't a coincidence. It was the plan. She officially joined in September 2018 and has been here ever since.

Allison is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and has been dry needling certified since 2020. She incorporates blood flow restriction training and Graston technique when the evidence supports it. These are tools in service of a philosophy, not techniques applied by default. That philosophy is straightforward: treat the person, not just the injury. Identify the specific impairment, address the root cause, and build toward outcomes that last.

Her patients feel the difference between that approach and the alternative:

"The only way to describe Allison and the entire crew is excellent. She is first rate, from evaluating my needs to providing top-notch therapeutic care that is individualized to my needs."

"Allison is compassionate and professional. She is responsive to my concerns and works well with me because she cares. I feel stronger and better after each session. I've already recommended her highly to my friends."

"Allison in particular is priceless. The entire PT staff makes me (and everyone in there) feel comfortable and aware of what's being done and what has to be done going forward. It's a pleasure to go."

Off the clock, Allison walks her dog, rides her Peloton, skis, travels, and spends time with family and friends.
