Jonathan Allen, PT, DPT

Jonathan Allen has been part of the Maryland Orthopedic Specialists family since 2010, when he first trained here as a physical therapy student. Today, he leads the practice as Site Director of our Germantown office, a trajectory that says everything about the kind of clinician he is.

Jonathan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in Southern California, where he also completed his bachelor's degree in health and wellness. He began his academic journey closer to home at Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University) in Takoma Park, MD.

His approach to care reflects both his training and his background as an athlete. A former high school baseball catcher at Takoma Academy and a collegiate shot-putter, Jonathan brings a genuine understanding of how athletes think, train, and recover. He integrates functional, exercise-based programming with hands-on manual therapy, focused on getting patients back to peak performance, not just out of pain:

Outside the clinic, Jonathan is a committed weightlifter and strength training enthusiast, a devoted New York Giants and Yankees fan, and he is known around the clinic for his collection of bow ties.
