After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, Dr. Raffo attended medical school at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He stayed at Georgetown University Hospital for his residency training in orthopedic surgery, where he was chief resident. Dr. Raffo completed additional fellowship training in advanced arthroscopic techniques for shoulder and knee surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, as well as a board-certified sports medicine practitioner, Dr. Raffo is known for working with athletes. Over the years, he has spent time caring for members of the Washington Redskins, DC United, Georgetown Hoyas, and numerous high school teams.

While Dr. Raffo is an expert at diagnosing and treating all types of orthopedic issues, he specializes in shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle injuries. Many of his surgical treatments involve minimally invasive arthroscopic repairs, including rotator cuff and meniscus tear procedures.

Dr. Raffo understands the importance of athletic rehabilitation and works closely with the physical therapy team to ensure each patient gets the care and treatment they need. Whether a patient has an old injury, an undiagnosed pain-causing condition, or a new injury, Dr. Raffo welcomes new patients to the practice.
